Dr Mike Loosemore is an experienced Lead Consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health. He has been treating the general public with musculoskeletal and sports injuries since his appointment in 2009. Dr Loosemore is dedicated to promoting exercise as a preventative intervention and treatment for various medical conditions.

He has extensive experience treating athletes from a wide range of sports and currently serves as the doctor for the British Boxing and British Snowsports teams. Dr Loosemore has travelled with national squads to Olympic and Commonwealth Games and was the Chief Medical Officer for the England Commonwealth Games team in New Delhi 2010 and Glasgow 2014.

Dr Loosemore has a strong research background in sport and exercise medicine and has published numerous works in the field. He is passionate about educating future SEM doctors and is the Head of Speciality for sports and exercise medicine training in London. His contributions to the field have been recognised with an honorary doctorate in science and the Sir Robert Atkins award for outstanding contributions to sports medicine.

His areas of expertise include exercise prescription, exercise testing, and physical fitness assessment. Dr Loosemore treats a variety of conditions such as cricket injuries, joint injuries, football injuries, rugby injuries, and dance injuries.
