Professor Lorigan graduated from Trinity College, University of Dublin in 1986, where he completed his specialist training in haematology and oncology. He began his esteemed career as an Honorary Consultant and Senior Lecturer in Medical Oncology at The University of Sheffield and Weston Park Hospital in 1996. In 2002, he joined The Christie and the University of Manchester as a Consultant and Senior Lecturer.
