Mr Rahul Nath is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, where he serves as the Lead Clinician for Gynaecological Oncology. He also sees patients privately at London Bridge, The Lister, and the Portland Hospital. Mr Nath has a specialist interest in identifying gynaecological malignancies and managing patients with pre-invasive cervical, vaginal, and vulval diseases, as well as those with ovarian, endometrial, cervical, and vulval cancers.
Mr Nath graduated with a BSc in Pharmacology and a Medical degree from the University of Wales in 1992. He trained in General Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the West Midlands and at Guy’s and St Thomas' Hospital. Following this, he completed a three-year research project investigating the risk of HPV infection and cervical pre-cancer in women with Lupus, earning a doctorate (MD) from the University of London. He then undertook further subspecialty training in Gynaecological Oncology and was appointed as a Consultant Gynaecological Surgeon and Subspecialist in Gynaecological Oncology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ in 2006.
Previously, Mr Nath has held the roles of Clinical Lead for Gynaecology and Clinical Director for Women’s Services at Guy’s and St Thomas’. He is currently the Lead Clinician for Gynaecological Oncology and the South-East London Accountable Cancer Network Lead for Gynaecological Oncology. He has been extensively published and is a frequent speaker at both national and international conferences.
Mr Nath's areas of expertise include cancer prevention and screening, coil insertion, colposcopy, hysterectomy, hysteroscopy, laparoscopic hysterectomy, vulvectomy, and minimal access surgery. He treats conditions such as cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, vulval cancer, vaginal, vulval, and cervical pre-cancer, and HPV infection.
Appointed as a Consultant in 2006, Mr Nath continues to contribute significantly to the field of gynaecological oncology through his clinical practice, research, and leadership roles.
