Mr Rajiv V Dave is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast and Endocrine Surgeon at the Nightingale Breast Unit, part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. This centre is one of the largest breast symptomatic and screening units in the UK, renowned for excellence in complex oncoplastic breast surgery and pioneering new technologies. Mr Dave's specialist surgical training spans over a decade and includes a Research Fellowship awarded the Patey Prize by the Society of Academic and Research Surgery. He has also completed a prestigious TIG Oncoplastic Fellowship in Manchester and an International Fellowship in Breast & Endocrine surgery in Melbourne, Australia. In addition to his expertise in breast surgery, Mr Dave is trained in thyroid and parathyroid surgery. He is an integral part of the busy Endocrine service at Wythenshawe Hospital and a member of the Greater Manchester & Cheshire Thyroid Cancer MDT. He has a particular interest in thyroidectomy for Graves' disease and the surgical management of primary hyperparathyroidism. Mr Dave has a strong academic background and a keen interest in translational 'bench to bedside' research. He has published extensively in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and has also contributed to patient information literature. He has successfully led large national collaborative studies that have influenced clinical practice and has been awarded prestigious research grants. His leadership roles include serving on the Association of Breast Surgery Academic and Research Committee and as a the founder of the Kenya/UK Breast Cancer Alliance. Known for his excellent communication skills, excellent surgical outcomes and attention to the artistry of surgery, and dedication to patients and his team, Mr Dave is committed to delivering high-quality care to his patients.
