Miss Rosaria Scarpinata is a Consultant Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgeon currently based at the private practice at HCA London Bridge Hospital. Her current NHS post is at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - Princess Royal University Hospital. She specialises in Lower GI Surgery, with particular interests in laparoscopic surgery, colorectal cancer, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and colonoscopy.

Miss Scarpinata graduated with full honours from Palermo University School of Medicine, Italy, in 2002. She completed her Higher Surgical Training in General and Colorectal Surgery in 2008. Following this, she undertook a six-month fellowship at St. Mark’s Hospital, focusing on laparoscopic colorectal surgery. Since 2009, she has trained in the United Kingdom through fellowships at Leeds General Infirmary and QE Birmingham. In 2011, she was appointed as an Ethicon Laparoscopic Colorectal Fellow at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where she gained extensive training and hands-on experience in major laparoscopic colorectal procedures.

Miss Scarpinata holds several professional memberships, including the Medical Defence Union, the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland, and the British Medical Association. She is currently the Chair for the South East London Tumour Group, providing leadership and guidance in colorectal cancer matters.

Miss Scarpinata is proficient in a range of procedures and treatments, including appendicectomy, coloproctology, laparoscopy, open hernia repair, bowel surgery (colectomy), abdominoperineal resection, and removal of the rectum and colon (proctocolectomy). She treats conditions such as hernia, inguinal hernia, bowel obstruction, diverticulitis, and haemorrhoids.

Appointed in 2011, Miss Scarpinata continues to contribute significantly to her field, combining her extensive training and experience to provide exceptional care to her patients.
