Dr Samir Agrawal is a Consultant Haemato-Oncologist at St Bartholomew's Hospital and The Barts Health NHS Trust, and a Senior Lecturer in Haematology at Queen Mary University of London. He also provides private consultations, including at Leaders in Oncology Care.

Dr Agrawal specialises in the treatment of blood cancers and stem cell transplantation. He has a particular interest in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) and is a recognised expert in managing infections in immunocompromised cancer patients. He is a world authority on life-threatening invasive fungal infections.

Dr Agrawal completed his medical training at the University of Bristol and further specialised at the Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital. He earned a PhD with first-class honours in Immunology from the University of Paris. His previous roles include Director of The Stem Cell Laboratory and Head of Diagnostic Immunophenotyping. He has designed, funded, and implemented studies on myelodysplastic syndromes, invasive aspergillosis, and CLL. He was a founding Trustee of the UK MDS group and has served on the UK MDS and CLL trials committee. Additionally, he is a trustee for CLLSA, a patient-led support organisation for CLL patients in the UK, a NICE reviewer, and the Haemato-Oncology representative on the UK IVIg initiative.

Currently, Dr Agrawal is focused on invasive fungal disease, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, and developing systems for remote patient care. He aims to empower patients by providing them with secure online access to their data. He is also a member of the fungal subgroup for the government committee on antimicrobial resistance, ESPAUR.

Dr Agrawal's expertise includes stem cell transplantation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. He treats conditions such as chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and fungal infections. He has been serving in his current roles since his appointment in 2003.
