Dr Shamali Hoque is a Consultant Dermatologist at HCA UK, The Shard and London Bridge Hospital, as well as for the NHS. She specialises in skin cancer and general dermatology including acne, psoriasis, eczema, and paediatric dermatology. Her main interests are skin cancer, psoriasis, acne, eczema, general dermatology, and paediatric dermatology.

In 2007, Dr Hoque was appointed as a Consultant at University Hospital Lewisham and is currently the Clinical Lead for Dermatology at Lewisham Trust. Prior to that, she was the Skin Cancer Lead for 10 years there. She is the South London Representative for the British Association of Dermatologists and a Council Member of the Royal Society of Medicine. She is also the Research Lead for Dermatology at Lewisham Trust and an Educational Supervisor and Clinical Supervisor to Dermatology Specialist Registrars at Lewisham Trust. Additionally, she is the Biologics Lead at Lewisham Trust Dermatology.

Dr Hoque completed a BSc in Pharmacology at University College London with First Class Honours before studying medicine. In 1996, she completed her MBBS at Barts and The Royal London Hospital Medical College with a distinction in Medical Ethics. She continued her medical training at Barts and The Royal London Hospital while completing her MRCP (UK). She began her dermatology training at St John’s Institute of Dermatology and completed her Specialist Dermatology training at St George’s Hospital.

Dr Hoque is actively involved in teaching and training and has presented regularly at GP meetings. She has also performed audits and published articles in her areas of interest. She offers a range of procedures including virtual and face-to-face consultations, cryotherapy, cautery, dermoscopy, electrodesiccation and curettage, mole checks, skin biopsies, skin cancer screening, and skin cancer surgery.
