Mr Srijit Banerjee is a consultant urologist at Darent Valley Hospital, specialising in general urology with a focus on renal stone disease and lower urinary tract dysfunction. He has been serving as a consultant since 2021.

Mr Banerjee completed his basic medical degree in India in 2004. He then trained as a specialist registrar in the North London Deanery, gaining experience at renowned institutions such as The Royal Marsden and St Bart's Hospital.

With extensive expertise in performing procedures like rigid and flexible ureteroscopies, laser stone fragmentation, and surgeries for urinary symptoms such as TURP and intravesical Botox, Mr Banerjee is highly skilled in his field. He also has a keen interest in cancer diagnostics, particularly in patients presenting with raised PSA, and treats conditions like haematuria and superficial bladder cancer. Additionally, he performs various open and penoscrotal surgeries, including hydrocoele, phimosis, and vasectomy.

Currently, Mr Banerjee is the BPH lead at Darent Valley Hospital and has established a local urodynamics MDT. His research at the University of East Anglia on the enhanced recovery of bladder cancer patients earned him an MD degree and has been widely published in both British and international journals.

An active member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), Mr Banerjee is also dedicated to the training and supervision of junior doctors, contributing to the future of urological medicine.
