Dr Steve Bandula is an Interventional Oncology Consultant and Head of Interventional Radiology at University College Hospital, London. He specialises in treating various tumours, including those of the lung, liver, soft tissue, and bone, using advanced techniques such as microwaves, radiofrequencies, and minimally invasive ablation methods like cryoablation and electroporation.

Dr Bandula completed his medical training at Cambridge University and further specialised in Radiology and Interventional training at UCH. In 2011, he was awarded an NIHR doctoral fellowship to pursue a PhD in non-invasive tissue characterisation at UCL. He has been a key member of the Interventional Oncology UK (IOUK) national committee and frequently lectures at both national and international conferences.

As a senior lecturer in cancer intervention at UCL, Dr Bandula focuses on the development and clinical translation of novel minimally invasive therapies. He also leads the Foundation for Interventional and Oncology Research (FOIR), part of the University College Hospital Charitable Trust. His areas of expertise include image-guided tissue targeting, minimally invasive tumour ablation, microwave ablation of liver and lung cancers, and oncological imaging.

Dr Bandula treats a range of conditions, including HPB/liver, gastrointestinal, lung, kidney, and sarcoma cancers, as well as managing pain. His interests lie in the development of new cancer therapies and improving clinical outcomes for his patients. Dr Bandula has been serving in his current role since his appointment in 2015.
