About Mr Thomas White
GMC number: 6120285
Year qualified: 2005
Place of primary qualification: University of Bristol
Mr White is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in hip and knee surgery. He practices at HCA UK at The Shard and the London Bridge Hospital.
Mr White graduated from Bristol Medical School in 2005. He then undertook postgraduate study at several major London teaching hospitals and completed two globally recognised sub-specialist fellowships in complex hip and knee surgery. The first fellowship was as a pelvic and arthroplasty fellow at St George's Hospital, a leading tertiary referral centre for pelvic trauma and complex revision hip and knee replacements. Following this, he completed the Allograft Fellowship in Perth, Australia, where he learned the latest procedures in primary and revision hip and knee surgery at the state's two busiest orthopaedic hospitals.
Upon returning to the UK in 2018, Mr White became a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. He quickly established a busy hip and knee arthroplasty practice and is currently the lead for revision hip and knee surgery. He frequently collaborates with colleagues from other hospitals in the regional network and treats complex cases at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, where he was named Honorary Consultant in 2020.
In addition to his elective practice, Mr White has a busy trauma practice at University Hospital Lewisham, where he specialises in complex hip and knee fractures. In 2018, he was appointed Lead for Clinical Governance, and in 2020, he became the Lead for Trauma.
Mr White's areas of expertise include primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, pelvic trauma, and complex hip and knee fractures. His roles and interests extend to clinical governance and trauma leadership, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
