Mr Vincent Tang is a Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon based at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. He also serves as a Consultant at Tameside, Macclesfield, and Leighton Hospitals. Mr Tang specialises in general urology and has sub-specialised in pelvic oncology, focusing on prostate and bladder cancer, as well as robotic surgery. He offers both general urology services and complex urological cancer management, particularly using robotic techniques.
Mr Tang graduated from St George's Hospital Medical School, London, in 2001. He completed his specialist urological surgery training in the North West Deanery of England and honed his urological oncology expertise in high-volume urology cancer centres, including The Christie Hospital and Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and holds a Certificate of Completion of Training in Urology in the UK.
Mr Tang further advanced his robotic surgery skills with a one-year dedicated da Vinci robotic surgery fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia. He also completed the European Robotic Urology Section (ERUS) certified Robotic Radical Prostatectomy curriculum in Belgium. He later practiced as a Urologist at The Canberra Hospital, Australia, providing general urology and complex urological cancer surgical services.
Mr Tang is actively involved in academic research, with over 50 publications and presentations. He also serves as a journal reviewer for several international urology journals. His contributions to the field have been recognised with multiple awards, including the Ethicon Foundation travelling fund, The Urology Foundation clinical visit fund, and the Prostate Cancer UK education bursary.
Mr Tang's areas of expertise include robotic surgery, prostate diagnostics, prostate biopsy, minimal invasive prostate surgery, MRI fusion trans-perineal prostate biopsy, Rezum (steam treatment for prostate enlargement), and bi-polar TURP. He treats conditions such as urological cancer, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, prostate enlargement, and general urological issues.
