    Prof. Yacoub Khalaf is a consultant in gynaecology and a renowned expert in infertility, assisted conception, fibroid management, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and recurrent miscarriage. He qualified in Egypt at Assiut University and completed his subspecialty training in reproductive medicine and surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital. He also earned his MD in Birmingham, UK. Prof. Khalaf has been working as a consultant since 2001.

    Prof. Khalaf is a recognised international expert in the management of infertility and assisted conception. He is currently the Medical Director of the Assisted Conception Unit at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and the Director of the Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) Programme. Together with his ACU team, he has been helping many couples fulfil their dream of having children.

    Additionally, Prof. Khalaf has a particular interest in the conservative management of uterine fibroids and is a national and international expert in this field. He has been voted and described by his peers as one of the safest pair of hands in fibroid surgery. Entirely dedicated to his profession, Prof. Khalaf prides himself on offering and delivering truly patient-centred care, personalised on an individual basis.

    With his vast experience in this field, Prof. Khalaf has lectured at major national and international conferences and has published widely on all aspects of assisted conception, particularly fibroids, ovarian stimulation, IVF, and PGD. He has also appeared on TV (BBC, ITV, Channel 4) and has been interviewed by the BBC Today programme and Radio 5. He is a spokesperson for the British Fertility Society.
