    About Mr Asmat Din

    GMC number: 7021047

    Year qualified: 2008

Place of primary qualification: University of London, Human Medicine

Mr Asmat Din is a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon at Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he runs a broad general Plastic Surgery practice. His special interests are in microsurgical reconstruction of complex wounds due to trauma, cancer, the complications resulting from diabetes and vascular disease, and prolonged critical illnesses. He works closely with leading surgeons from other specialities to ensure the best aesthetic and functional outcomes for his patients. He also runs a private practice at London International Patient Services.

Mr Din studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and then the University of London, graduating in 2008 with a double distinction. He completed a broad training in Plastic Surgery from the largest and busiest centres in the UK. He then completed his specialist training rotating through the major London units. He undertook a Microsurgical Reconstruction Fellowship in St Thomas' Hospital that involved complex soft tissue reconstruction form head to toe in adults and children, most of them related to post-cancer or post-trauma reconstructions. He then completed a Trauma and Sarcoma Reconstruction Fellowship in Bristol. Winning the prestigious Ian McGregor Medal for Outstanding Performance in the FRCS Plast examination capped his illustrious academic career. This is the final examination that all UK Certified Plastic Surgeons have to take before starting their practice.

Mr Din remains interested and involved in teaching and training and has sat on a number of national committees including the FRCS Exam Board. He offers courses and training in his areas of expertise. He is currently an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Queen Mary's University of London.
