    Christian Brown is a Consultant Urologist, King’s College and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts. He works as part of the laparoscopic and robotic teams at King’s and Guys, which are both renowned global centres of excellence in laparoscopic and robotic (key hole) surgery. He is renowned for his work in prostate cancer diagnostics including MRI and transperineal prostate biopsy, nerve sparing robotic radical prostatectomy, benign prostatic hyperplasia and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) including green light laser photo selective vaporization of the prostate (PVP) and REZUM (steam treatment of the prostate).

    Christian offers general as well as specialist urological care. His general practice involves the diagnosis and care of general urological conditions including those of the prostate, kidney, bladder and male genitalia. He has performed more than 1000 minimally invasive laparoscopic/robotic procedures in the last five years. He also provides a tertiary referral service for elective robotic and laparoscopic surgery including radical prostatectomy (RARP). He has also performed and published the first pelvic kidney removal through the umbilicus using a scarless pure single-port technique.

    Christian trained at King’s College Hospital, University College Hospital, The Royal Marsden and The Royal College of Surgeons, in addition to other hospitals across the south east of England. He remains dedicated to both teaching and research and has had his original work published in the British Medical Journal. He remains an active clinical researcher and has over 65 peer reviewed publications and in both benign and malignant prostate disease.

    Always eager to share his knowledge and skills, Christian teaches practical surgical skills including radical prostatectomy and nephrectomy to urological trainees and consultants both in the UK and abroad.

    Few commonest symptoms for which patients come to see me are difficulty in passing urine, blood in the urine and semen, sexual problems including erectile dysfunction, urogenital pain.
