    James Allibone was appointed as a Consultant Spinal Neurosurgeon at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in 2002. He served as the Lead Spinal Surgeon at the hospital before moving his NHS practice to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) in 2007. He is currently the Lead Spinal Surgeon at NHNN.

    Mr Allibone graduated from The London Hospital College in 1989 and completed his general surgical training at St Bartholomew's Hospital. He then undertook neurosurgery training in North London at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

    He has a special interest in degenerative diseases of the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine, as well as spinal tumours. Mr Allibone possesses extensive knowledge and experience in both the conservative and surgical management of these conditions.

    Mr Allibone is a member of the National Clinical Reference Group for Spinal Services and serves as the Lead Clinician of the Complex Spinal Group at NHNN. He has led the North London Metastatic Spinal Tumour Group and has been a member of the executive council of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons. Mr Allibone frequently presents at national and international meetings.
