    Dr Michael Brown is a highly qualified and experienced physician specialising in infectious diseases, tropical medicine, and acute medicine. He has extensive experience in treating a wide range of infections, including those acquired in hospitals and less common infections in the UK. Dr Brown has a particular interest in the health of individuals who have lived in or travelled to countries where unusual infections are prevalent.

    Dr Brown's academic background is impressive. He graduated from Oxford University with a degree in medicine and completed his clinical training at University College Hospital and other teaching hospitals in London. He was awarded a Wellcome Trust Fellowship, which enabled him to work at the UK MRC Programme on HIV in Uganda for two years. Additionally, Dr Brown earned a PhD from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine for his research on the impact of coinfection with helminths on HIV disease.

    In 2007, Dr Brown was appointed as a Consultant Physician at University College London Hospital, where he currently serves as Clinical Lead of the Hospital for Tropical Diseases. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Dr Brown's research interests include parasitic infections, pulmonary tuberculosis, HIV, and migrant health. He manages an active research group in these areas.
