About Dr Salim Janmohamed
Dr Salim Janmohamed is a highly experienced Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist, specialising in Diabetes and General Medicine. He completed his medical training at University College Hospital London, earning a BSc in pharmacology and graduating with a triple distinction MBBS degree in 1988. Dr Janmohamed furthered his expertise with postgraduate training in London and Oxford, becoming a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1991. He has focused on Endocrinology and Diabetes since then, dedicating four years to research on pituitary disease and the genetics of diabetes and obesity.
Appointed as a Consultant in 1999, Dr Janmohamed practices at several London hospitals, including The Wellington and Royal Free Hospitals. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London. His specialist interests encompass metabolism, thyroid and parathyroid disease, pituitary and adrenal disorders, obesity, sex/reproductive hormones, osteoporosis, and hormonal treatments. He is also engaged in international clinical research on new and emerging medicines for cardiovascular and metabolic disorders.
Dr Janmohamed's clinical expertise includes general medical and endocrine investigations such as pituitary function tests, short synacthen tests, and thyroid biopsies.
