    About Mr Stephen Warren

    GMC number: 3137963

    Year qualified: 1986

Place of primary qualification: University of London

Mr Stephen Warren is a London-based Consultant General, Colorectal, and Laparoscopic Surgeon with extensive experience in treating a wide range of abdominal and bowel complaints. He has been performing surgical operations since 1987 and is highly skilled in both elective (planned) and emergency procedures. Mr Warren is primarily based at BMI The Kings Oak Private Hospital in Enfield, London.

Mr Warren graduated with a medical degree from the University of London in 1986. He developed a passion for laparoscopic surgery early in his career, recognising that patients experienced less pain and quicker recovery times with fewer complications compared to traditional, more invasive methods. In 1991, he performed his first laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which earned him a national scholarship for a three-month sabbatical at the Cleveland Clinic in the USA, a leading centre for research, education, and health information. He later achieved a Master of Surgery degree from the University of London after publishing his thesis.

Mr Warren's key areas of interest include groin complaints, gallstones, bowel cancers, rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and colonoscopy. He is also a dedicated teacher, trainer, and mentor, committed to educating the next generation of surgeons.

Outside of his professional life, Mr Warren enjoys oil painting, playing football, and cycling.
