    One of the top general surgeons in London, Mr Shankar is the Medical Director at Lister Hospital for HCA UK. Prior to this, he served as the Divisional Clinical Director of Gastrointestinal Services at University College London Hospitals. His other HCA UK private practice locations include HCA UK at University College Hospital, The Wellington Hospital, and The Harley Street Clinic.

    His primary locations in the NHS are University College and The Royal Free Hospitals, and he received the majority of his surgical training at The Middlesex, University College, and Hammersmith Hospitals in London. For his investigation into the growth of colorectal liver metastases, he received an MD.

    His interests include benign HPB disorders, particularly acute and chronic pancreatitis, complex gallstone-related conditions, emergency surgery, and duodenal polyposis. Mr Shankar works in one of the largest HPB facilities in the UK. He also oversees the London Sarcoma Service at University College Hospital's Abdominal Sarcoma Unit. He also oversees the Hernia Clinic, which offers both open and laparoscopic procedures, and he has a particular interest in handling complicated complications and recurrences.
