    Dr George Webster is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist at University College London (UCL) Hospitals, where he is the clinical lead for hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) medicine. He has a specialist interest in all aspects of HPB medicine and interventional endoscopy, including ERCP, colonoscopy and endoscopy.

    After qualifying in medicine from the Royal Free Hospital Medical School in 1991, Dr Webster pursued his initial postgraduate medical training at the Royal Brompton, the Hammersmith Hospital and at the Whittington Hospitals, before entering specialist training in 1995. He undertook clinical training in gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopy in London at the Royal Free, Barts, The Royal London and the Middlesex/UCL hospitals, and then in Sydney.

    Dr Webster has particular interests in training (he is the director of the London Live Endoscopy course), writing (he has coauthored the Oxford Handbook of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and multiple papers/reviews/chapters), and in clinical research (focusing on advances in endoscopy, and on benign and malignant pancreaticobiliary disease). He is a committee member of the Pancreatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland and a member of the steering committee for the Specialist Library for Gastroenterology and Liver Disease within the National Electronic Library for Health.
