Miss Moneli Golara works as an Obstetrics & Gynaecology Consultant at Barnet General Hospital in North London. Her main areas of interest are menstrual problems, keyhole surgery and other general gynaecological problems. She is one of the few consultants in the unit who regularly performs laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery on women for most conditions.
Having qualified in medicine from University College Hospital in 1991, Miss Golara completed her training in hospitals across London, working in many centres of excellence such as Queen Charlotte's, Guy's and St. Thomas and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals. She gained Membership of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 1997 and fellowship (FRCOG) in 2010.
Miss Golara has recently contributed as an expert to a comprehensive pregnancy book 'My Pregnancy', published by Dorling Kindersley in 2011. During her training she also undertook two years in clinical research, mainly in conditions such as pre-eclampsia and prematurity, publishing many peer-reviewed articles in relevant journals.
