  • About Dr Robin Woolfson

    Dr Robin Woolfson (MB BChir, MD, FRCP) is an eminent nephrologist, with special interests in diabetic nephropathy, hypertension, chronic renal failure and adult dialysis. He works as the Divisional Medical Director for Transplantation and Specialist Services at the Royal Free Hospital, where he has previously served as the Clinical Director for Nephrology, Hepatology and Transplantation Services. He also serves as a Nephrologist and Physician on the staff of King Edward VII's Hospital, London W1.

    After graduating from Cambridge University and St Thomas' Hospital Medical School in 1983, Dr Woolfson trained as a Renal Registrar at Guy's Hospital Renal Unit and subsequently as a Senior Registrar and Clinical Lecturer at the Institute of Urology and Nephrology, UCLH. He received his MD from Cambridge University in 1990. He was appointed as Consultant Nephrologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer to the Middlesex and Whittington Hospitals in 1997.

    He has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. He also nurtures a strong interest in training and education, having served as Chairman of the London Deanery Specialist Training Committee for Renal Medicine from 2005 to 2012.
