Prof. Vassilis Hadjianastassiou, also known as Vass Anastassiou, is a distinguished medical specialist and one of the few in the UK with dual separate GMC accreditation in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Oxford, where he also completed his doctoral thesis in abdominal aortic aneurysms.

Prof. Hadjianastassiou completed his specialist surgical training at the Oxford and London Deaneries. In 2008, he was appointed Consultant Surgeon at Guy's & St. Thomas' NHS Hospitals, where he served as the Clinical Lead for pancreas transplantation. In 2011, he was recruited by the Cyprus Ministry of Health to restructure the system of Organ Transplantation in Cyprus, becoming the founding Medical Director of Transplantation. He also served as one of the two appointed experts in Vascular Surgery on the Government's Advisory Committee for two years. Currently, Prof. Hadjianastassiou works at the Royal London Hospital as a full-time Consultant Surgeon (Bart's Health NHS Trust) in vascular surgery, kidney transplantation, and general surgery for the renal failure patient population. He has been a full Clinical Prof. of Surgery at the University of Nicosia Medical School since 2013.

Prof. Hadjianastassiou is passionate about continuous medical education and training, serving as an examiner for the European Diploma of Transplant Surgery and the MRCS award of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has given numerous lectures at international meetings and has a significant number of scientific publications.

With over 17 years of Consultant grade surgical experience, he is proficient in managing a wide range of conditions in vascular and general surgery, including complex laparoscopic techniques and organ transplantation. He adopts a humanistic approach, viewing patients as individuals with their own families, jobs, and personal priorities.
