    Mr Chinmay Gupte is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Clinical Reader (Associate Professor) specialising in knee and trauma surgery at Imperial College, London, specifically at St Mary's and Charing Cross Hospitals. He also serves as a Senior Surgeon at The Wellington Knee Unit and Portland Hospitals. Mr Gupte completed his medical qualification at Oxford University and underwent surgical training at St Mary's and Charing Cross Hospitals. In 2004, he was awarded a PhD from Imperial College for his research on meniscofemoral knee ligaments and their role in knee arthritis and ligament injury. His excellence in the field was further recognised in 2005 when he received the British Orthopaedic Association Robert Jones Gold Medal Proxime Accessit.

    Mr Gupte has held the distinguished position of being the youngest President of the Royal Society of Medicine Orthopaedics Section. He is also an active member of the British Association for Surgery of the Knee. His expertise encompasses both children's and adult sports knee conditions. He routinely manages meniscal and cruciate ligament injuries, patellofemoral instability and pain, osteochondral injuries, and early arthritis. His approach is highly personalised, taking into account biomechanics, family history, knee demands, and sports aspirations. He collaborates closely with physiotherapists to ensure optimal decision-making and rehabilitation for his patients.

    In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Gupte is deeply involved in clinical research, focusing on meniscal surgery and knee ligament reconstruction, as well as arthroscopic simulator training. He has co-authored over 80 papers in the fields of knee surgery, shoulder and ankle surgery, tuberculosis, and surgical training. Mr Gupte's commitment to advancing medical knowledge and training the next generation of surgeons is evident in his extensive research and publication record.
